Geocache Description:

Since we missed Petroypa70's 10,000 cache, his great nephews, (Gatordude, Turtleman, and Cacheman) placed this as tribute to his 14,000 cache finds. It is located in the hills of Mt Pisgah, where he grew up on a local farm.  You will start at the stature of Chief Wetona and follow the trail to Sunset Rock. Continue on down the trail.  When accessing the cache, the leaves may be slippery when wet. Enjoy your stop at the statue, sunset rock and the cache.

You may even find a letter box nearby.

This Park is located in Springfield Township and consists of approximately 600 acres of land. It is home to some beautiful vistas for your viewing enjoyment and over 2200 feet above sea level. There are 2 pavilions and many picnic areas, but currently camping is not allowed at this facility. There is a restroom facility with no running water. This park is currently only open from dawn to dusk. There are hiking trails and informational signage at the vistas. Wildlife abounds in this beautiful secluded park. Gate may be closed during winter months.

It is closed after muzzleloader season approximately end of January. Sunset Rock received it's name from Legendary Oneida Chief Wetonah the Native America Chief who roamed the Pisgah Area and took many journeys to Sunset Rock to meditate and overlook the scenic valleys below. Check out the rock carvings while there. Placed by permission.

Please make sure to wear orange during hunting season.
