Biwa Bridge of Aizome River / 藍染川の枇杷橋 Traditional Cache

Once upon a time, there was a bridge named Biwa Bridge across Aizome river at here.
(Ai = indiogo , Biwa = loquat)
Aizome river  poured into Shinobazu pond as headwaters the Somei village.
There is a theory that is named Aizen river from the fact that there was a dyeing shop of indigo in the vicinity of the river.
This river had some name, Aizome River , Yata River , and more.
 

Since Aizome river was flooding well, it became a culvert in the Taisho era.
Where there was a river now it's getting on the road.

The road is meandering toward the Shinobazu Pond from this point.

昔この場所には、藍染川にかかる枇杷橋という名前の橋がありました。
愛染川は、染井村を源流として不忍池に注ぎ込む川で、谷田川とも呼ばれていました。
この川が古石神井川という説もあります。
川の周辺に藍染の染物屋があったことから藍染川という名前になったという説があります。
藍染川はよく氾濫したので、大正時代に暗渠になりました。
現在は川のあったところは道路になっています。

Sudo Park (須藤公園: http://coord.info/GC1AAZR)で紹介されていますが、この地点から不忍池に向かって蛇行した道になっています。
蛇のように蛇行した道に驚くことでしょう。
そして、この道に沿って台東区と文京区の境界が設定されています。
