Yagisawa Koushintou / 柳沢庚申塔 Traditional Cache

Yanagisawa Koshintou is a big Koshintou.
(Koshintou is one of the old signpost.)
There are about three meters height of the tower, including the pedestal stone.
It is Koshin tower of unusual large in Tama district.
1723, it is what was erected by the 23 residents in the vicinity of the Ome Kaido and Hanno (Tokorozawa) Road of Oiwake (forked road).
 

Tanashi village was developed as a post town of Ome Kaido held in renovation of Edo Castle.
Bigger Koushintou is shows the economic prosperity of Yanagisawa inn.

Initially it seems was built in the branch point of the Ome Street and Tokorozawa Street.
Location seems to have been built in the vicinity of the Tamaru-ya inn was at the branch point (current Tamaru-ya shop).
It was moved to today's location for widening Tokorozawa street in 2006.

享保8年(1723年)、青梅街道と飯能(所沢)街道の追分(分かれ道)に付近の住民23人によって建立したものです。
台石を含めた塔の高さ3メートルほどあり、多摩地方でも珍しい大型の庚申塔です。
江戸城の改修工事で開かれた青梅街道の宿場として発展した田無村柳沢宿の経済的繁栄を示しています。

当初は青梅道と所沢道の分岐地点に建てられたようです。
場所は分岐点のところにあった田丸屋旅館（現在の田丸屋商店）の近くに建てられたようです。
平成18年（2006年）に所沢街道拡幅のため今の場所に移設されました。
