Regen View
Sometimes when we see the land logged bare
Our gaze is captured and we begin to stare.
And sometimes we even get depressed or mad,
Thinking the loggers have done something bad.
So take a short shake and look across the vale,
And I’ll recount for you a regeneration tale.
After the trees have been all hauled away,
But of course not before we come to play;
The tree planters come with ‘super’ trees.
And plant the new forest in rows if you please.
If you look over there you can see them all growing,
Most of them planted but some from natural sowing.
And it all looks green and happy once again,
Assisted by the tree planting women and men.
In a few seasons if you were to return here too
The brown would be fading and the green showing through.
Now back to the present and your trip out here
