​Michelangelo the orange masked Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle coined most of their catchphrases, including Cowabunga Dude, in the cartoon series.  Before TMNT  cowabonga was, an exclamation frequently used by the character Chief Thunderthud on the Howdy Doody Show.  This phrase then was adapted by surfers and the fun pizza loving Michelangelo!  Hero's in a half shell, TURTLE POWER!
