Geocache Description:

Geo-boy came up with a puzzle cache so Geo-girl demanded a multi related to sport. While some sports come and go and there are regional limitations but we’d have trouble fitting in all of the after school sport and artistic endeavours if they were strung out over a large city with traffic lights. But you don’t have the need to zip all over town some waypoints are visible from space and all are visible from side of the road at the listed waypoints.

At the end of eastern end of Philipson Rd is the home of rugby union and netball, you can see from space that it has 6 netball courts and one main rugby field. It is off the road so we have no requirement to go there.

A = number of main Rugby fields at the eastern end of Philipson road

At the listed coordinates you'll find Mosman oval on Lister street which is home of the Demons AFL team and venue for regional age cricket carnivals. Number of cricket pitches in the practice nets = B

Waypoint 2; On Enterprise Road the PCYC is home of the Charters Towers Hawks, Lady Hawks and junior soccer teams. C= number of the tallest light poles with a branch of 3 lights on top.

Waypoint 3; Anyone for tennis on Boundary Street? Number of courts = D

Waypoint 4; Heated Indoor and seasonal outdoor pool entrance on the corner of Plummer and Church Streets, where the number of flagpoles = E

We bypassed the cricket centre on York Street plus the indoor cricket centre (+ indoor soccer, netball and beach volleyball). Apologies to the Touch Association, Golf Club, Gun club, Bow hunters, horse and horsepower sports – we’d need another multi or 2 to fit them in!

The cache is near the pool (parking usually available here or the park further up Church Street) and the Rugby League ground. A nearby building used to contain squash courts.

It can be found at B0° 0C.B0A' South , ACE° A(E-A).(D-A)E(A+B)' East

Check - all the individual South digits add up to 9 and similarly East = 33

The cache is a small tin that is quite attached to a metal cross bar and would appreciate being returned there. At the time of placing it contained an un-activated trackable whistle (for umpiring?), pencil and logbook
