I Missed a Turn Hiking in the Cascades Preserve Traditional Cache

In June 2012, the Oak Ridge Town Council voted to annex the northern portion of the Cascades Preserve, a 130 acre nature preserve, as part of an agreement between the town and Guilford County.  The southern part of the preserve was already within the town limits.  This agreement was made to add to the recreational “opportunities” in Oak Ridge.  I read that as a Geocaching opportunity.

When I was placing these caches I missed a turn on the trail and continued to follow this old road.  It ended in a swamp and it took a minute to discover that I was off trail.  I had to place a cache since I walked here.  These woods are just LOADED with Beech trees.  This cache has been painted to blend in with its surroundings... or were the surroundings painted to blend in with the cache.
