Geocaching with a group of friends is always much more fun than going at it alone. Finding and signing this logbook will require you to do just that!
This geocache is called a "mob cache" and requires the use of a smartphone with web and location capabilities. You will need to make sure your "location services" and "web browser privacy settings" are enabled for everything to work as intended. As the cache title suggests, you will need 5 smartphones in order to complete this cache. Gather yourself and 4 friends at the published coordinates, follow the instructions below and you will be well on your way to finding this cache!
- Go to the published coordinates.
- Open https://www.geotrailsw.com/mob/ on your smart phone.
- Verify that the accuracy displayed is reasonable (hopefully less than 40 feet or so).
- "Which mob are you attending?" When prompted with this question, enter the number 1701
- Once the website verifies you are at the location, the counter bumps up letting you know how many phones are connected.
- When the counter reaches the required mob size of 5, the coordinates for the cache and hint are revealed. Stay in your group until the revealed information is recorded, or written down, or photographed, or memorized. If people leave the mob area, the page you are looking at may disappear and no longer show you the needed coordinates for the geocache. (It takes a minute).
- Enter those coordinates into your GPS or smartphone to navigate to the location of the geocache. Please preserve the spirit of this Geo-Mob by not disclosing the coordinates of the final location to those who do not meet as a group as intended.
Do you lack the numbers or equipment required to find this geocache? Feel free to post a note to this cache page indicating that you'd like to form a group or join in with another. You could always ask your non geocaching friends to help?
Signing the log will also require teamwork. Please make sure you all bring a pen with you, this will make sense when you get to GZ. Good luck, have fun and happy caching!
