Salisbury Beach is one of the state`s most popular beaches stretching for 3.8 miles along the Atlantic Ocean. If you want to visit and explore the area for the weekend, Salisbury Beach Reservation has a campground located within walking distance of the CITO location. Pets aren't allowed on the ocean-side beach but they are allowed on the Merrimac River side beach and they are allowed in the campground. This is also a great location for salt-water fishing from the shore or by boat. There is a boat ramp located next to the campground.
The Salisbury Beach CITO event was created to coincide with the Ocean Conservancy's national Coastal Cleanup day on September 19. This annual clean-up brings together hundreds of thousands of people around the world to work together to clean-up trash from beaches, lakes, and streams.
