[ITA] Durante i giorni più attesi dalla comunità mantovana, quelli in cui si svolge il rinomatissimo Festivaletteratura (importante punto di riferimento per la cultura europea), abbiamo deciso di ospitare un evento per farvi scoprire le innumerevoli bellezze storiche, paesaggistiche e architettoniche di Mantova, città del Rinascimento e patrimonio mondiale dell’Umanità dal 2008.
[ENG] During the most waited days in Mantova, those during which Festivaletteratura takes place, we decided to host an event to show you the many historical beauties and the landscape of Mantova, city of the Renaissance.
PROGRAMMA DELLA GIORNATA
- PUNTO DI RITROVO: parcheggio Campo Canoa – Strada Cipata (gratuito, indicato dalle coordinate dell’event) alle ore 10:00. Nelle vicinanze (dall'altra parte della strada) è inoltre presente un'area di sosta attrezzata per i camper.
- La giornata comincia con le classiche presentazioni e poi si parte con la camminata, ma non prima di aver cercato una nuova cache alla Rocca di Sparafucile, sita a pochi passi dal punto di ritrovo. Sosteremo dopo pochi minuti di cammino in un posto molto suggestivo e amato da tutti i fotografi della zona, che offre una perfetta cartolina da Mantova e il suo skyline e che ospiterà la prima Earth cache mantovana.
- Successivamente ci si sposta al Castello di San Giorgio dove inizierà la prima vera camminata, lungo il cosiddetto "Percorso del Principe", importante asse viario che conduce da Palazzo Ducale a Palazzo Te, attraverso il quale scopriremo alcune delle cache locali.
- Arrivati a Palazzo Te cercheremo l’ultima cache della mattinata, per poi pranzare tutti insieme (nel log specificate se preferireste mangiare al sacco o nel vicino ristorante “Mare Chiaro”). Dopo pranzo verranno consegnate le due Mystery cache da risolvere, che verranno cercate nella passeggiata pomeridiana. (per una delle due Mystery sarà necessario un dispositivo collegato a Internet, o un’incommensurabile conoscenza letteraria!)
- Partenza per la seconda camminata della giornata, basata sul tema dell’acqua e il suo ruolo nella città di Mantova (frutto di un progetto scolastico di due anni fa), alla scoperta del Rio e le sue Pescherie, Porto Catena, dei Giardini Virgiliana e ovviamente una passeggiata sul lungo lago (per la quale può risultare utile munirsi di repellenti per zanzare). Durante la passeggiata verranno scoperte le ultime cache. Alla fine verrete riaccompagnati al parcheggio, dove ci saluteremo e condivideremo i nostri TB. L'orario di fine evento può essere molto variabile e a discrezione dei singoli, ma per potersi regolare l'idea sarebbe verso le 19:00 di sera.
- Se qualcuno volesse ancora restare per godersi il pittoresco tramonto sul lago e bere un aperitivo al locale “La Zanzara” è ben accetto!
EVENT SCHEDULE
- MEETING POINT: Campo Canoa parking – Strada Cipata (free, see coords) at 10:00 am. On the other side of the street there is also a service area for campers.
- We'll introduce you to the city and to the event and we'll start the long walk with a new cache near the old building in Sparafucile and continue to an awesome spot appreciated also by photographers where you can see Mantova's skyline and where you will find the first mantuan Earth cache.
- Then we'll move to San Giorgio Castle where the “Prince's Path” starts. It's an important and quite long way which goes from Palazzo Ducale to Palazzo Te, and hosts some caches already hidden in the city.
- Once arrived at Palazzo Te we'll find the last one (of the morning, not of the day!), and have lunch all together (when you log please tell us if you prefer to have a picnic or the restaurant “Mare Chiaro” which is close to Palazzo Te). Once finished we'll give you the listing of two Mystery caches so that you can solve them and find them in the afternoon (we suggest you to have a device with Internet connection or a huge knowledge of literature!)
- The second walk in the afternoon will focus your attention on water and its important role for Mantova. We'll discover the Rio canal and the Pescherie, Porto Catena, the Virgiliana park and obviously a promenade on the lakeside (pay attention to the wild mosquitos, bring some repellent with you!). At the end of the walk we'll bring you back to the parking, where we'll swap our TBs. We extimate the end of the event at 7 pm.
- But if you are tough enough you can join with us the sunset and have a drink in a cafè on the lake @ "La Zanzara".

Chi siamo?
Siamo due giovanissimi geocachers mantovani! Abbiamo iniziato quest’anno a praticare questo bellissimo sport, se così può essere definito e siamo ansiosi di ripopolare la bellissima città di Mantova e dintorni di cache con il fine di valorizzare le sue bellezze e conoscere nuovi geocachers.

Who are the owner?
We are two young geocachers from Mantova! We started going geocaching this year and our goal is to place in this awesome city and in the surroundings a lot of cache so that we can bring out its beauties and qualities and meet new geocachers.
