RAIL TO ROAD Traditional Cache

In times gone by Milverton village (North Street) was the A.361 trunk road which carried the holiday traffic to North Devon and Cornwall. Not good in the summer months. In 1966 the taunton to Barnstaple railway which went to the North of Milverton closed. Some years later its track bed was used to form the Miverton by pass which is today the B 3227. With the coming of the North Devon link raod in the 1970s the traffic flow reduced greatly
