Important! Due to the current weather (heavy rain), and due to the nature of the CITO (held on the beach), I am postponing the CITO for tomorrow, August 20th (Thursday), same time, same place. I waited for the last possible moment (an hour and a half before the CITO), but the weather shows NO signs of improving, and even if it stops raining right now (which it wouldn't), the beach ambient that I had in mind would be completely ruined. Unfortunately, I did not take the rain into the consideration, as it almost never rains here in August.
Korcula coast is rather clean this year, so not many opportunities to host a CITO where a significant change regarding trash can be performed. But, the underwater is another story. I dive on the starting coordinates every day, and can't believe what can be found underwater. Mostly empty glass bottles, but a lot of automobile tyres, few toilets (!!) and a lot of other things. So, this is the perfect opportunity to clean the underwater a bit, maybe even catch some octopuss (I caught one just today).<br/>
So, the CITO starts at 17:30, and finishes around 18:30 (in time for the event at the same place) Bring snorkeling mask, if you have one, if not, I have some spare ones. Gloves (in case we need them) and trashcans will be provided on the spot. Look the waypoints from the event on the same site. Prepare yourselves for an afternoon on the beach, and bring appropriate stuff (towels and so on). Keep an eye on this event, as time and place might change in the following two weeks.<br/>
