Welcome, foolish mortals. All geocachers are welcome to attend our Spirited Ice Cream Social at the posted coordinates. We also encourage (but don't require) participation in the Spooky Spirit Sprint (see below for more details).
Event Timeline:
- 11:00 AM: Those who wish to participate in the Spooky Spirit Sprint should meet promptly at the provided waypoint "Spirit Sprint Start".
- 12:30 PM - 2:30 PM: Come and enjoy an Ice Cream Social at waypoint "Ice Cream Social" while welcoming our arriving Sprinters!
- 2:15PM - 2:30PM: Announcement of the winners of the Spooky Spirit Sprint and free geocoin drawing are announced!
Spirited Ice Cream Social Details:
From 12:30 PM - 2:00 PM, you may deposit your bodies at the posted coordinates for a haunting ice cream social / meet & greet! Come and share your ghostly geocaching stories, ask your quivering questions, trade terrible trackables, and consume devilish dairy products (you will be responsible for your own phantasmic purchases).
While we haunt this area, we will welcome the surviving Spooky Spirit Sprinters as they cross the finish line and join the festivities!
The winning team will be announced at 2:30 PM and receive their prize(s). We will also be holding a drawing immediately after for a free geocoin for any/all participates (one ticket per geonick, please)
Spirit Sprint Details:
For those who wish to participate in the Spooky Spirit Sprint, bring 1-4 mostly living team members and meet promptly near waypoint "Spirit Sprint Start" (N39° 43.934' W104° 57.892') at 11:00 AM. There, you meet the undead host for this event, learn about the area's history and collect your spirit sheet, along with a small ghost to take with you (no we're not kidding). You will then depart on your adventure.
The Spooky Spirit Sprint will send you to a number of haunting destinations in and around the surrounding area. Your entire team must travel together to each location (no splitting up team members or body parts!) As you learn about each location, you will collect various pieces of information needed to help you to complete the Sprint!
Once you collected all the necessary information, you will be ready to head to the "end of the line". Proceed to Spirited Ice Cream Social located at the posted coordinates! The team that crosses the finish line with the fastest time (and all of their team members plus their ghost) and hand in the correct answers on their spirit sheet will win the Sprint and receive their prizes (an unactivated geocoin for each team member).
Please note: You will need a vehicle and a cellphone or camera for taking digital photos in order to participate in the Spooky Spirit Sprint!
