"Real Steel" is about a father who has invested his money into boxing robots. When his son suddenly shows up, he is forced to look after his child while betting on his robot to win matches. Eventually his robot is destroyed in a fight and he has hit rock bottom. While scavenging through a dump for old robot parts, his son slips and falls into a massive hole. When the son falls, his shirt catches an old robot hand and is saved from what would be almost certain death. The son spends the whole night digging up his savior and it turns out to be an old sparring robot. The robot was designed to take a lot of hits but deal little damage. The father gives the robot a go in a local match and it wins. They move through the ranks and eventually end up challening the champion boxing robot. The result?
