St Nicholas Church, Cabourne is of Saxon origin. The earliest written record shows that it was bequeathed by Gilbert de Turribus to Wellow Abbey in Grimsby back in the 14C. Over the years there has been major restoration including the rebuilding of the Nave and Chancel (keeping many of the original features). In 1964-66 more restoration was necessary and roof timbers and tiles were replaced. Since placing this cache the much needed roof restoration has been completed and it now looks impressive with its new red tiles. We have also been informed that there is no longer a wardens number on the notice board so have changed the information needed for the final. Go to the front of the church and look above the notice board: There are three words...... A = The number of letters in the first word B = The number of letters in the second word C = The number of letters in the third word The cache can be found at N 53 30.(A-2)(B-4)(C+1) W 000 16.(A+3)(B-4)(C-3)
