4-H Rocks! Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

boxen-hunters: Alas, due to some new landscaping, the cache's hiding spot is gone and the cache with it. It's been a good run, but it's time to say farewell to this one.

Geocache Description:

This is a traditional cache placed in Springfield, Ohio. Bring your own pen. Enjoy!

When I was a child, I was a dedicated member of 4-H. I remember many days spent working on my 4-H projects, sometimes rushing to finish them mere days before they were judged and then displayed at the county fair. For 10 years I was enrolled, and some of my proudest moments were when I received my Grand Champion ribbon or saw my projects go on to be displayed at State Fair.

Imagine my surprise when I was geocaching one day and found myself in this little park dedicated to the founder of 4-H. I had no idea that the program that shaped much of my childhood had begun here in Clark County. So allow me to share this lovely spot and a piece of my childhood with you.

You won't need to leave the pavement to find this cache. Don't mess with the sprinkler heads; they don't have anything to do with the cache. But do look for the NGS benchmark nearby!

Have fun!

Congratulations to jobrerry for FTF!
