Geocache Description:

THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO NEED TO GO DIGGING WITH YOUR FINGERS IN THE SOIL TO GET THIS CACHE.

This cache is located in the Dunedin Town Belt which surrounds the centre of the city. Covering over 200 hectares (490 acres) it extends around 3 sides of the city's centre at a distance from it of some1-3 km. The fourth side is the harbour. it is one of the oldest green belts in the world and was planned in Scotland at the time of the advent of the Otago stttlement by the British.

Numerous walkways lead through the bush and parks and this is one place close to the centre of town where you will find freely flowing creeks. This cache is located just off one of these walkways and just above the junction of two creeks. This walkway leads to private property belonging to one of the local high schools so expect heavy muggle traffic just before 9am and again after 3pm.

The cache is a small 200ml capacity snaplock container containing a logbook, pen and some small swaps. To reach it you will have to cross one of the small creeks which are small enough for an adult to step over under normal conditions. Beware of any slippery rocks and banks and during and immediatly after a significant rainfall event the creeks may be running high so you should delay your visit until the level drops.

If you have walked beyong the seat that is passed the bridge then you may be entering privale property. Please respect it and don't go up the asphalted path.
