Geocache Description:

This cache will take you to a tiny cluster of rocks and trees that just breaks the surface of Candlewood Lake. You'll find this "island" just south of Chicken Rock. The cache container is a cammo'd bison tube. Getting onto the island should be the hardest part, but it is accessible via boat, canoe, or kayak, or by making a trek over the frozen lake as I did with Horsebackhiker to place the cache. This cache was placed with permission of Eversource Energy.

Candlewood Lake is well-known to most of us living in Fairfield County. It has many beaches and marinas and countless ways to enjoy the lake both during the summer and winter months. I am happy to contribute to the numerous fun activities to do on and around the lake which now includes hopping between the different islands to find geocaches.
