Plusieurs caches ont été placées sur ce circuit du Morne Larcher sur la commune du Diamant. Bien suivre les instructions pour parfaire ce parcours qui par mesure de sécurité est préférable en groupe ou au moins à deux.Il est quasi-impossible de se perdre, car le chemin est balisé par des traits jaunes sur les arbres.
Les caches #1 à #3 sont sur le côté du Diamant ( Ànse Caffard ) et leur difficulté de Terrain ne sont pas identiques. Veuillez bien les consulter avant d'entreprendre les ascensions.

Several Caches were placed on this circuit of the Morne Larcher at Municipality of Diamant. Well follow the instructions to perfect this route which by security measure is preferable in a group or at least for two. It is quasi-impossible to get lost, because the path is marked out by yellow lines on trees.
Hiding places #1 to #3 are on the side of the Diamond (Ànse Caffard) and their difficulty of Ground are not identical. Please please consult them, before undertaking the ascents.

DIRECTION :
Pour un départ de l'Anse Caffard le mieux est de se garer à l'Anse même, sur le parking des restaurants de plage ou au bord de la route à coté du sentier (Waypoint). Pour un depart côté Petite Ànse : En arrivant des Anses d'Arlet, rentrer dans le bourg de Petite Anse, puis remonter, à gauche, la rue des Pruniers jusqu'au parking situé à 1km du bord de mer.
LE SITE :
Situé sur le commune du Diamant, juste en bord de mer, le Morne Larcher est un ancien volcan aujourd'hui éteint, culminant à 478m. La forme et le relief de la montagne et de ses environs, lui valent le surnom de "femme couchée". Si son sommet reste inaccessible aux marcheurs à cause de sa végétation inextricable, il est en revanche possible de monter jusqu'à 400m d'altitude pour s'offrir une vue spectaculaire sur la baie du Diamant et son rocher ainsi que sur la côte sud de la Martinique jusqu'à Sainte Anne. On peut y accéder sur deux endroits : soit par la commune du Diamant au pied de l'Anse Caffard ou bien de la Petite Ànse.
De l'Anse Caffard longue d'1km environ, est raide et chaotique. On y retrouve la pente et les blocs rocheux de l'autre versant. L'autre point de départ de cette randonnée se situe sur les hauteurs du village de Petite Anse. Le sentier commence par traverser des pâturages verdoyants entre des clôtures. Au bout de 500m on pénètre en fôret et la pente s'élève brutalement. Le chemin devient très raide et de gros rochers volcaniques rendent la progression difficile. Après 650m de montée quasi directe dans la pente (on s'élève dans le même temps de 200m), le sentier s'aplanit et contourne le sommet par la droite. La végétation est un peu moins dense et l'on arrive alors au point de vue... Le panorama est magnifique.
- La Randonnée complète du Morne Larcher débute à l'anse Cafard et se termine à Petite Anse...ou dans l'autre sens ! Comptez 2 à 3 heures de Marche, et surtout prévoyez de deposer une voiture ou un chauffeur à l'arrivée.
- La Randonnée "tronquée" est également possible afin de revenir par là ou vous êtes arrivés (bien plus pratique).
Quoi qu'il en soit, cette randonnée est destinée aux marcheurs aguéris, et devient très difficile s'il pleut ou si le sol est encore mouillé. Par temps dégagé, la vue sur la baie du Diamant vous enchantera et sera la récompense de la journée !
A savoir impérativement : Tenue légère, bonnes chaussures de randonnée, pas de vêtement noir, casquette ou chapeau, prévoir linges de rechange, crème et lunette solaire, Sac à dos de randonnée, gourde d’eau 1,5 litre au moins, appareil photos et effets personnels, médicaments, anti-moustiques, etc.…
NOTA :
Cette circuit est relativement court mais s'avère difficile par temps chaud car l'effort est soutenu en montée. Même s'il ne s'agit pas véritablement d'escalade, il en effet est parfois nécessaire d'utiliser les mains pour grimper. D'autre part le sentier est souvent boueux plein de racines et il est donc préférable de faire cet itinéraire pendant les mois les plus secs: de décembre à Avril
LA CACHE :
Pour ce N°1, la cache de taille moyenne est placée à quelques mètres du Sentier. Faîtes preuve d'une grande discrétion car les lieux sont assez fréquentés. SVP remettez bien la cache à sa place d'origine.

For a departure of the Anse Caffard best is to park in the Anse, on the parking lot of the restaurants of beach or by the roadside in quoted by the path ( Waypoint). For a departure of the side Petite Ànse: by managing Anses d'Arlet, go into the village of Petite Anse, then to to go back up to the left, the street of Plum trees up to the parking lot situated in 1km of the seaside.
THE SITE :
Placed on municipality of the Diamant, just man by the sea, Morne Larcher is a old volcano today faded, highest in 478m. The shape and the relief of the mountain and its neighborhood, are worth to him the nickname of " slept woman ". If his its summit remains inaccessible to the walkers because of its inextricable vegetation, it is on the other hand possible to go up until 400m of height to offer itself a spectacular view on the bay of the Diamant and its rock as well as on the south coast of Martinique up to Saint Anne. We can reach it on two places: or by the municipality of the Diamant at the foot of the Ànse Caffard either of the Petite Ànse.
Of the long Anse Caffard of 1km approximately, is stiff and chaotic. We find the slope and the rocky blocks of the other hillside there. Other starting point of this hike is situated on the heights of the village of Petite Ànse. The path begins by crossing green pastures between fences. At the end of 500m we penetrate into it fôret and the slope rises brutally. The path becomes very stiff and big volcanic rocks return the difficult progress. Later 650m of almost direct rise in the slope (we rise at the same time of 200m), the path becomes level and by-passes the summit by the right. The vegetation is a little less dense and we arrive then at the point of view... The panorama is magnificent.
- The complete Hike of Morne Larcher begins in the Anse Caffard and ends in Petite Ànse or the other way! Count 2 at 3 hrs of walking, and especially plan to put down a car or a driver on arrival.
- The "truncated" Hike is also possible to return there or you arrived (more practical).
In any event, this hike is intended for the aguéris walkers, and becomes very difficult if it is raining or if the ground is still wet. By clear time, the view on the bay of the Diamant will enchant you and will be the reward of the day!
Must be with you : light Clothes, good hiking boots, no black garment, cap or hat, plan spare sets of clothes, cream and solar glasses, Backpack of hike, gourd of water 1,5 liters minimum, camera and personal effects, medicine, insect repellent, etc. …
NOTA :
This circuit is relatively short but turns out to be difficult by hot weather because the effort is supported in rise. Even if it is not really about escalation it indeed is sometimes necessary to use hands to climb. On the other hand the path is often muddy full of roots and it is thus preferable to make this route during the driest months: from December till April
THE CACHE :
For this N°1, the medium-sized hiding place is placed a few meters away from the circuit. Summits proof of a big discretion because places are frequented enough. PLEASE put back please, the hiding place to its place of origin.
