L'Orso bruno marsicano è la specie simbolo del Parco Nazionale d'Abruzzo, Lazio e Molise.
La ricerca di questo cache ha lo scopo di far conoscere ai Geocacher l'ambiente e i segni lasciati dall'orso.
La zona del Monte Marcolano, del Vallone Lampazzo e della Cicerana, si trova nella parte nord del Parco e costituisce un'area dove l'orso trova il proprio habitat ideale.
Il cache è nascosto lungo il sentiero R4 che parte dal Rifugio del Diavolo ed arriva al Monte Marcolano.
Non lasciare mai il sentiero! Oltre che inutile per la ricerca del cache, è anche vietato dalle regole del parco.
Si tratta di un'escursione bella e non difficile, adatta anche ai bambini, e vi condurrà nel cuore selvaggio del Parco: con un pò di fortuna vi consentirà di avvistare l'orso!
Se non riuscite ad avvistare l'orso a causa del suo carattere schivo, almeno provate a riconoscere le sue impronte lungo il sentiero: esse sono inconfondibili dato che questo animale essendo un plantigrado poggia completamente la pianta del piede a terra. L'orma dell'orso è simile per forma ad un piede umano, però più larga e con le dita tutte uguali.

The Marsicano brown bear is the symbol of the National Park of Abruzzo, Lazio and Molise.
The search for this cache has the purpose to acquaint to the Geocachers the environment and the marks left by the bear.
The area of Mount Marcolano, Vallone Lampazzo and Cicerana, is located in the north of the park and is an area where the bear finds its ideal habitat.
The cache is hidden along the path R4 which begins at the Rifugio del Diavolo and reaches Mount Marcolano.
Never leave the trail! Just useless to search for the cache, it is also prohibited by the rules of the park.
It is beautiful and not difficult hike, suitable for children, and will lead in the wild heart of the Park: with a bit of luck you will spot the bear!
If you can not spot the bear because of his shy character, at least try to recognize his footprints along the path: they are unmistakable because this animal being a plantigrade rests completely the sole of the foot to the ground. The footprint of the bear is similar in shape to a human foot, however, wider and with the fingers all the same.
