The Island Traditional Cache

This cache is placed on the island in the Slocan Pool on the Kootenay river.

Unless you can walk on water you will need some kind of boat, raft, or floatation device to reach the island.

Thread lightly here as many waterfowl nest on the island.

This island was also used as a fishing ground for the native indians.

You will notice some depressions in the ground near the cache site. Those were covered with  propped up tree branches to make their camps.

You are searching for a large round container with plenty of room for trades.

You can launch your cartop boat/kayak/canoe/raft at the end of Davidson Rd. in Shoreacres.

If you are trailering a boat, you need to launch it at the boat launch in Glade across the ferry as this is the only pulic boat launch between the dams
