Enjoying a road trip can open your eyes to many of the interesting and unusual attractions not often seen by most travellers. And if you geocache, the experience becomes even more rewarding. You travel highways and byways new to you. You see how geocaches are designed to fit into the local environment. But best of all, you have the opportunity to see the creativity of many other geocachers. You see firsthand why their caches have so many favorite points. I don’t know about you, but I’m pretty picky about what caches to which I give a favorite point. I want to see some forethought, some creativity, and definitely, correct coordinates to GZ.
This summer, my road trip took me into six states and Canada. Share some of the highlights of my adventure and enjoy the reward at the end. Read about the caches, look at the photo galleries, check the maps, the highways and interstates travelled, and the natural wonders nearby. It’s not a race. Take your time and enjoy your virtual road trip!
• My road trip began in South Lake Tahoe, California with participation in the GeoTahoe South 2015 High Sierra Event . . . 50 caches put out over a period of a two days. This one was great . . .

• Our only timetable was assuring that me met our appointment time at Headquarters. And while I love to find caches large enough to hold SWAG, sometimes the area teaches you so much more about the past and ends up being so much more rewarding. Such was this cache in Oregon . . . a picnic table set out under the shade of a tree with a chance to pull over, stretch your legs, eat your picnic lunch, take pictures of yourself in shackles, and, of course, feed the friendly dog that came to say hello at the fence.

• Heading to Seattle and toward our next goal, we arrived at Headquarters just a little before our appointment time. We wanted to make sure we didn’t miss it. Enjoyed the presentations, the opportunity to ask questions, the drinks, snacks, and trackables provided visitors to HQs. As well, the opportunity to pick-up TBs from all over the world, drop TBs, and exchange SWAG was this Geocacher’s dream. Definitely worth the trip!

I had the opportunity to see one of his large caches located in Centralia, Washington. It is well deserving of the many favorite points it has received.
