The Blue Mountain Recreation Area has many fine caches but the southern part has been ignored. I had a cache in this location that was archived ten years ago and decided to replace it.
The cache is a pill bottle with a log and two pencils. The 6.02 trail is open to motorcycles so expect a dirt bike or two as well as mountain bikes and the random horse. There are a number of ways to get there, so pick your own trailhead. There is sort of an odd ghost trail that you may be able to find. It's graded with a number of switchbacks and even a little bridge, However the end closest to the trail along Hayes Creek peters out into a game trail, and the end close to Deadman's Point is also obscure. Maybe the FS will actually hook it up someday.
