Geocache Description:

A poignant memorial in a lovely park.

Welcome to Chadick Park.

God's Little Angel memorial is intended to bring solace to those effected by the loss of a child.  The 21 dogwood trees each commerorate a child who has died: 20 for the the children who lost their lives in the daycare of the Murrah Building on April 19, 1995 in an act of domestic terrorism. One tree is for the unborn baby who lost his life when his mother was killed in the same tragedy. The last tree is for Ryan Luke, a child who died as a result of child abuse in 1995 in McAlester.  Other parents who have lost children have added trees for their loved ones and plaques with the loved ones' names accompany their tree.  The statue was sculpted by a local artist.

Also nearby is a memorial to those who have lost their lives fighting for the freedom of our country in each of the wars in which our nation has fought.

A little walking trail, benches, fountain and gazebo provide a peaceful resting place for visitors.  A playground, tennis courts, water fountains for humans and their pets, tennis courts, public bathrooms, picnic pavilions with grills, and a splash pad and wading pool (open in summer) provide entertainment and refreshment. Enjoy! You are looking for a camoed rubbermaid container. Please hide back very well! PLEASE DO NOT TAKE A TRAVEL BUG UNLESS YOU LOG IT AND FOLLOW GEOCACHING RULES. Rules for Travel Bugs are found on the Geocaching.com website. Thank you! Congrats to Gardner Rob for being our FTF!!!/span>
