Geocache Description:

This cache will bring you down a seldom traveled leg of the North Canaan Greenway (there are 3) to a clearing, from which can be a seen a solo elm tree.  The tree has long since parished, but its massive winding branches still hang on.  It is quite amazing that the surrounding cover was likely the cause of the tree's lack of life, but at the same time have sheltered it from winds and storms and kept it standing for so long.

The tree can be well seen from GZ and should not be harmed if the tree happens to fall some day.

As a seldom traveled path, most of the time you need not worry about muggles most of the time.  The path is not always well maintained, so there may be some overgrowth on the way in.  Also, the summer can bring TONS of mosquitos, be prepared.

BYOP,and watch for animals!

Enjoy!
