Geocache Description:

Conway Beach is located on the southern side of the Conway National Park in the Whitsundays and is at the mouth of the Proserpine River.

The Crocodile Rock geocache can be found by following Conway Road(approximately 20km of sealed bitumen road accessible by all vehicles and caravans) until you get to Conway Beach.  The Conway Road turnoff is on Shute Harbour Rd at Mount Julian(between Proserpine and Airlie Beach).  There is plenty of room for parking along the beach esplanade with barbeques, tables, a children’s playground and public toilets as well as a caravan park nearby.  Conway Beach is a popular destination for fisherman and kite surfers located at the mouth of the Proserpine River.  I have never seen a crocodile at this beach however the Proserpine River is well known for its large population of saltwater crocodiles further upstream.

To find the cache, you’ll need to take a short walk along the beach.  The regular sized cache(a 1 litre plastic Sistema cylinder) has plenty of room for swaps and trackables.  It is hidden high among the rocks(hopefully above the king tide level) so you might prefer to wear shoes as some rock climbing is required. The coordinates may not be 100% accurate due to the cliff face but the photographs should help you find GZ.  Congratulations to jjjml who were the First To Find.
