Die eerste saamtrek in Vryheid en ook 'n eerste vir I&J om ’n saamtrek aan te bied!
Die afgelope jaar het daar skielik 'n hele klomp nuwe spelers vanuit Vryheid by die sport/spel aangesluit en is hier tans ten minste 11 spelers in Vryheid geregistreer (van wie ons weet) - dit nadat die I&J span sedert 2004 al alleen deelneem!
Ons wil graag so veel as moontlik van die Vryheid skattejagters saamtrek vir 'n ken-mekaar rondom 'n piekniek/braai. Die plek sal die piekniek plek in die Vryheid Berg (Lancaster Hill) Natuurreservaat wees waar daar tans die grootste konsentrasie asook die oudste skatte in Vryheid versteek is. Skattejagters van oor die hele land is natuurlik welkom en ons hoop om 'n hele klomp "veterane" daar te sien wat hulle Geocaching ervaringe met die nuwelinge kan kom deel.
Bring gerus ook "moggel" vriende saam om hulle aan beide die avontuur asook die sosiale aspek van die spel bekend te stel.
Die saamtrek begin amptelik om 12:00 en mense wat dit wil bywoon moet voor 14:00 by die piekniek plek opdaag. Indien daar genoeg belangstelling is, sal ons van vroeg Saterdagoggend af begin om die skatte in en om die dorp te soek. Die skatte in die reservaat sal ons gaan soek nadat ons iets te ete en te drinke ingeneem het by die saamtrek.
Vir die wat ’n naweek daarvan wil maak sal daar geleentheid wees om ook die skatte by Bivane dam en/of Ithala natuurreservaat te gaan optel na afloop van die verrigtinge.

The first event in Vryheid and also a first for I&J at hosting an event!
The past year saw a sudden interest and sign-up of players to the sport/game from Vryheid to the effect that we currently have at least 11 players registered in Vryheid (of whom we know) – that after the I&J team were the only Vryheid players since 2004!
We would like to get as many as possible of the Vryheid cachers together for a meet-and-greet around a picnic/braai. The venue will be the picnic spot in the Vryheid/Lancaster Hill Nature Reserve where the biggest concentration of caches as well as the oldest caches in Vryheid are currently hidden. Geocachers from over the whole country are obviously welcome and we hope to see a number of “veterans” there who can come and share their Geocaching experiences with the newbies.
Feel free to bring some muggle friends along in order to introduce them to the adventure as well as the social aspect of the game.
The event will officially start at 12:00 and people who wish to attend should be at the picnic spot before 14:00. If there is enough interest, we will start from early the Saturday morning in search of the caches in and around town. We'll go for the caches in the reserve after having something to eat and drink at the event.
For those who wish to make a weekend of it, there will be an opportunity to go for the Bivane dam and/or Ithala nature reserve caches after the event.
