Geocache Description:

I was geocaching at Well State Park recently while at the inaugural Central Mass Geofest and had the cache, As Close as It Gets (see below) loaded in the GPSr. I didn't realize it had been archived and searched and found it. It was in fairly good shape after almost two years of sitting unfound. Now it is resurrected as a new cache for you to continue to enjoy. Wells State Park offers a campground, interpretative program, a pond with a beach, and miles of trails. Check regarding any fees.

GCGA4G As Close as It Gets http://coord.info/GCGA4G Original Owners: Lostrker adopted from BSA Venture Crew 2338 First Hidden: June 7, 2003 Last Find Before Archival: October 13, 2013 Archived: September 27, 2014 Found Intact: August 22, 2015 Finders: 163 DNFs: 55 Archived Cache Description: Just west of the land of beaver, but south of the land of the bear. Cache is made of white pvc pipe with screw off end please screw lid on tight   The cache is located on the lower part of a rocky scree slope at the base of a cliff in the campground area of Wells State Park. There is a trail on the ridge above but the best and safest approach is straight in from the campground road. During the season there may be campers not too far away.  The cache is hidden between boulders behind a piece of decaying dead wood. Because of the cliff rock you may get some bounce. Do not stray too far up the slope. Although I preferred to continue to use the container and contents in the hopeful interest of cache history and conservation, the contents were wet and the container was not deemed the best. So I replaced the container with a medium to large plastic container with a screw on lid and moved the cache several feet to a better location. Please screw the lid on tight and keep the cache oriented vertically to keep out water. Difficulty and terrain ratings using geocache.com rating system and based on numerous surface rocks, variable GPSr readings, and safer approach from the campground road. You may get bouncy signals at the base of the nearby rocky cliff. Coord adjustments are welcome anytime. Cache on!
