Geocache Description:

Take the well worn trail in the southeast part of the parking lot.  After finding the cache, proceed a little farther down the trail and you will be rewarded with great views and even a  couplepark benches  to sit on.

Hoppers/Birge Pond is a 200 acre nature preserve in Bristol.  There is a lot of history connected to this area.  "Hoppers" refers to kettle holes that were formed in the ice age 12,000 years ago.  When the ice melted huge holes were formed, called "hoppers".  In the Colonial times these trials were colonial roads and Indian trails.  Some folklore of this area tells of Cheif Cochipianee who was said to travel through the Hoppers with bushels of apples to bring to a Farmington Cider Mill.  Steven Graves, a Tory, hid here to escape capture from the Sons of Liberty.

Now the Hoppers is an open space with hiking and walking trails and is also a great place for dogs to run the open fields.

You are looking for a camo'd pill bottle. Please approach GZ from the other side of the trail and cover well after signing in and replacing. Bring a pen.
