Geocache Description:

Welcome to the Maker Madness Redux 2015 Event

Who: Anyone
What: Cache Making Event and Geocaching Introduction
When: October 24th, 10:00am - ~1:00pm
Where: Upper Macungie Park, Hawk Pavilion, Upper Macungie
Why: We had fun with this event last year and want to do the same this year
How: Bring some cool caches you have built for display, trade or raffle (not required), and share your adventures of finding exciting caches with others.

Equipment: A Positive Attitude, Yourself, Friends, your choice of navigational device(s), writing instrument and whatever you would like to bring to share stories about.

Finding a great geocache can make for an awe-inspiring adventure, but those adventures do not magically appear on their own. They are concocted inside the brilliant mind of a Geocache Maker. This crazy thing we call geocaching would simply not exist without the people who channel their creativity and innovative spirit into making great experiences for others to enjoy.

Our primary objective of this event is to display some unique cache containers and share ideas along with the group on how to make a lasting Geocache while choosing a good location to hide it. We welcome you all to bring some cache container ideas to share with others and as always, the stories that go along with Geocaching overall. Additionally, we will have a few unique caches hidden nearby for you to find, so make sure you bring your GPSr or other navigational device(s) so you can find them. Lastly, we encourage you to bring along some food you are willing to share with the community of cacher's who attend (this is not required but encouraged).

Agenda Details:

Geocaching Intro: There will be a short introductory into Geocaching seminar for anyone attending who is new to the hobby and wish to learn about geocaching.

Cache Container Display/Trade/Raffle: Since this is a Makers Event, we encourage attendees to make and bring a unique cache container with you to the event. There will be separate tables for those who only wish to show off your skills. Or if you wish, you can put a container up for trade or simply donate a container for the raffle.

Unique Cache Find: Upon arriving at the event, each participant willing to participate will be given details to locate a few caches which will be hidden within the park. They will all be within walking distance of the pavilion and are designed specifically for the event. These caches WILL NOT be officially published. They are for the event only!

Food: The hosts of the event will be providing plates, napkins and utensils. We invite you all to bring a dish of food to share! This is not required, of course. Please know that there are grills available for use, if you wish to cook anything at the event. (A bag of chips does not constitute a potluck dish to share. Sorry)
