Two ways to get here (1) get a permit and drive or (2) walk up the access road. The rating is based on walking. The access road gets very hot, some say it is downright brutal; it is best avoided during the mid-day. The last two miles or so are all uphill so unless you’re looking for a good workout, bikes, skates, razors, skateboards or other such items can make this a much easier.
