A new boat house and roller slipway were built in 1927 and 2 years later the Station took delivery of its first motor lifeboat. In 1991 work was begun on a larger boathouse and slipway and this was completed in 1992. In April 2009 and new £2.2 million Tamar Class lifeboat replaced the previous Tyne Class boat.
