At the top of the street is the entrance to the Slave Quarter of St Johns Estate, which was the outbuilding of the old Cape Dutch farm manor that is hiding behind the trees. It has been restored and modernized in 2007 to a beautiful private home. Would be nice to have a look inside, but unless you’re friends with the owners, it is a no go.
Note: If you' re on foot, there is a small walkway connecting the top of Upper Kloof Street with Bellevue Street.
If you look for this geocache in spring, you will find it amongst beautiful spring flowers, Black eyed susan, cascading nasturtiums and other pretty flowers. The piece of land belongs to the City and is maintained and gardened by surrounding neighbours. The granite is local Table Mountain granite and if you up and you will see Lions Head and behind you the city bowl below. From here you can continue onwards via the little walkway behind the last house and continue your caching or just walk through the leafy suburb of Higgovale ogling the mansions. It is a steep walk, so make sure you have water with you.
