Geocache Description:

The Blandford Corn Exchange and the Shambles (The area behind the gates) replaced the former town hall which was destroyed by the Great Fire of Blandford in 1731. On a Thursday and a Saturday this area is home to small market which sadly, seems to be dying out.

This area also doubles up as a Cenotaph where the town remembers all those who have fallen. On and shortly after Remembrance Sunday, this area holds poppy wreathes from local organizations who place them after parading around the town on Remembrance Sunday.

If you are interested in any of the Towns History, I recommend you visit the Town Museum. Both the Exhibits and the people there are a wealth of knowledge!

This cache could potentially be a Cache and Dash. Parking in the Corn Exchange car park is limited and is often full up and on Market Days it is home to a few market stalls. Therefore I have suggested that you use the Church Lane car park nearby.

This cache is wheelchair accessible however wheelchair users may need help to retrieve the cache i

Beware, Stealth and patience will be required during busy times! Because of this, the difficulty rating is set accordingly. I apologize if co-ords are out slightly, GPS wasn't a huge fan of buildings - tried to make them as accurate as possible
