Der Pico de La Zarza ist mit seinen 808,5 Metern, die höchste Erhebung auf Fuerteventura, mit einem wunderschönem Rundumblick über den Süden der Insel. Vom Startpunkt aus ist der Gipfel in 2 - 3 Stunden erreichbar. Der erste und der letzte Teil der Strecke sind zwar etwas steiler, sollten aber niemanden vor unlösbare Probleme stellen. Wanderer sollten auf einer Tour an ausreichend Wasservorräte und Sonnenschutz, aber auch an wärmende Kleidung denken . Wenn man sich dem Gipfel nähert, sind oftmals orkanartige Böen, sowie Nebelwolken angesagt, sodass es empfindlich kühl werden kann.
