Geocache Description:

A series of caches that are meant to test the caching community whilst enjoying a gorgeous walk in the Cotswolds - enjoy!

*** Welcome to the Stonesfield Secret Set ***

it was time Stucuk and TT placed a new set and we'd been collecting 'clever caches' for a couple of years now - and it was time to use them.

THIS IS NOT REALLY A SET FOR NEWBIE CACHERS, the caches are deliberately tricky and the clues cryptic, but if you fancy it give it a go because it's a lovely walk and there are some great views to be had.  It's a series of thirteen caches (unlucky for some!) and you can pick up another three caches and an Earthcache as well.  It's about 4.5 miles in a loop through Stonesfield and takes about three hours to walk. We may change the Difficulty ratings - depending how well you all do!

You WILL need a pair of tweezers and you WILL need to bring your own writing implement. A lot of the logs are very small (although their disguise may not be) so please sign small and, if the log is full, please feel at will to replace them - in fact we'd be very glad if you do! :-) We are not into arguing about finds so if you choose not to sign to save space then we will gladly accept your word for it - why would you lie!! Please leave the cache as found so others can enjoy it, thanks.

Parking is available right by the first cache in the series with room for a few cars. There are sheep in the first field and a small field at the top which did have some cows in it at one point, but they didn't worry me (and I don't like cows!) The walk, we suspect, could get rather muddy and slippery in the rain so we would suggest good walking boots. It could be done by mountain bike but I'm afraid there is no disabled access.

Having found the first walk across the field past the bench (good spot for a picnic!) and through the gate to the left, there you will come across cache GC4KN0A. Proceed down the path in the trees to the open area near the river, the path goes at a sharp left into the woods but here you can find Earthcache GC3MJMY.
