Geocache Description:

A vigerous day in Annadel Park

3/18/03 Note: Karin S will now maintain this cache. The coordinates and cache sites will remain the same - new, laminated instruction sheets are now in place. This is a really neat trek through Annadel, and if you haven't given it a go, don't miss out!

This cache is arranged to give the searcher a very vigerous day of exercise. If you feel you can't walk between 6.5 and 7.0 miles, I don't recommend this outing, but you can certainly do the cache in stages and take more than one outing to complete. The hike starts at the entrance to Annadel Park at Cobblestone Trail. You can park your car at the parking lot on Channel Drive. The coordinates for the lot are: N32,27.391, W122,38.328.

The route to the cache is along existing trails with pre-established points at seven places before you get to the cache. At each of the seven points there is an envelope with a description of what to look for at the next site and the coordinates for it. Each site is near the intersection of two trails, so you should go to the intersection before starting your off trail search. The envelope is completely hidden, so it's important to make note of the description of each site. I tried to make each envelope easy to find so that you would not spend a lot of time tramping around off trail.

Follow Cobblestone Trail for 1.2 miled to your first coordinate point which is noted above. Look for a multi-trunk California Bay tree with a rock unnaturally placed in the center where the original tree stump rotted away. The envelope is buried under the rock.
