This is a memorial cache for my parents. My mom and dad built “the White house on Pentagon” across the street in 1961. My dad, B. Hunter, passed away when I was only 10 years old. A few years later my mom married one of their childhood friends. My mom and stepdad, Maxine and Otrede (hence the MO in cache name), continued to live in this house. My stepdad died in Feb. 2013 and my mom thirteen months later in March 2014.
This area was our playground. We spent countless hours here during a time when you could leave home in the morning and as long as you made it home for dinner no one worried where you were. We had a rope swing over our “swimming hole”, the only deep spot in the creek. We built forts, made trails through our forest and just hung out with all the kids in the neighborhood. Later when we were older this was a place to get away from parents and do things you shouldn’t be doing. This will always be a special place for me.
This cache is in the memory of my three wonderful parents and all the great times I had growing up here.
