The Town Belt (Dunedin) Traditional Cache

You do not need to lie or kneel on the ground. or to climb to find it. It is very important that you carefully note the position of the cache and replace it as it was. Take great care not to damage the log and to ensure that it is not visible. You don't want to make it easier for later cachers. There is no room for swaps or travelbugs. Please bring your own pen

This cache is located in what is known as The Town Belt. This covers over 200 hectares and runs in a cresent around the town centre from the Oval, through various hill suburbs to the slopes of Signal Hill. The fourth side of the city bounded by the Otago Harbour.

Residental areas outside the Town Belt use to be seperate boroughs that were eventually amalgated with Dunedin over time. The Town Belt now forms a break between the city's inner and outer suburbs.

The Town Belt includes many open areas and parks as well as planted introduced trees and regenerating native bush. Open streams can be found in many areas of bush.
