ביער עופר (יער חוף הכרמל) הוקם ב-2015 מצפור לזכרו של עידו כהן. עידו היה בעברו לוחם שייטת שחלה בסרטן בעקבות האימונים. במהלך מחלתו עידו ניהל בלוג בו הוא מתאר את מלחמתו בסרטן.
כדי להגיע למטמון יש לעלות ליער עופר דרך מרכז מירב. כדאי לחנות בחניה של "ים-כרמל" וללכת בעקבות השילוט. תחילה תגיעו למצפור ותוכלו להשקיף על הנוף או לערוך פיקניק. מכיוון שהמצפור היה נמצא בקירבת מטמון אחר, המטמון הוצפן מתחת למצפור, על שביל ישראל. אבל מאז המטמון הקרוב אורכב והמטמון הזה הועבר קרוב יותר אל המצפור עצמו.
The Ido Cohen lookout was built in memory of Ido Cohen who died of cancer, following exposure to carcinogenic substances in his army service.
In order to reach the cache you should follow the road that leads to “Merkaz Meirav” and continue climbing up the hill. At the top of the hill park your car and walk to the nearby park near lookout. The lookout is designed very nicely for watching the view or having a picnic. Since the lookout was close to another cache, so i was hidden beneth the lookout, on Shvil Israel. but since then the cache that was close was archived so this cache after adoption was moved closer to the lookout itself
