Because of that dark and stormy night in Seattle the night before the Block Party, we are holding our very own Metro Van Geocaching International Film Festival, cordially inviting YOU because you are a Geocaching star!
What, Where, When and for Whom is the MV-GIFF 2015?
Because we know that “Every Cacher is a Star” you are formally invited to attend the international premier showing of 16 short films about geocaching from around the world, taking place in romantic and exotic Coquitlam, British Columbia, at the Evergreen Cultural Centre.
Please be certain to tell us how many are in your party so that we can ensure seating for everyone. We have a limit of 100 celebrities for this event.
This gala will take place in the Rehearsal Hall at 1205 Pinetree Way, Coquitlam
This star-studded event will run from 6:30pm to 9:00pm
What to Expect at the MV-GIFF 2015
From the time your limo arrives and you are escorted through the admiring throngs, you’ll be welcomed by our courteous and professional (and pre-screened for your security) greeters to pick up your registration and ballots for the evening.
Then, should you choose, you can have your moment on the red carpet allowing the paparazzi to get their photo ops. Or you may just wish to head to the photo booth studio for your exclusive glamour photo shoot for “Metro Van Cachers” magazine.
After some refreshments and socializing with your posh celeb geocaching friends, our MC for the evening will start things off and we will watch the 16 short films, with intermissions.
By the end of the showings, your ballots will be collected and tabulated while your MC for the evening hosts a panel with some of the film makers, to answer your questions about the fascinating and lucrative geocaching film industry.
What Should You Wear to the MV-GIFF 2015
Of course, millions around the world will want to know what you are wearing this night. All kidding aside, we want you to be comfortable. As long as that means clothes. However, if you feel like going all out and “dressing to the nines” for the event, we certainly would encourage you to have fun with that and it’ll make some great red-carpet shots for our paparazzi. If you feel like showing up as your favourite film character, we would love to see that too.
What Short Films Will You See
There will be 16 short films (4 minutes or less per film) with 3 intermissions to ensure plenty of breaks and time to discuss and contemplate these amazing works of cinematic art. The 16 finalists as chosen by the esteemed film critics (we mean that in the nicest sense of the word) at Geocaching.com are:
