Decided to hide a quick paddle to while out here. Have fun!
Out doing DNQ's and Ardent Enthusiast's paddle-to caches today. Brought a replacement that we didn't need to use, so I figured why let it go to waste? Nothing special here, just a small container with log only. Enjoy the views up and down Oyster Creek!
Second in series of two paddle-to series. Part 1a Yeah, why not? and Part 1b Why not?.
About 100 feet away we discovered a message in a bottle! What did it say? It was a beer bottle with a cork in it, and faintly visible inside was a lined piece of paper rolled up and taped. Was it a cry for help from a distant island in the south pacific, afloat for decades, traveling hundreds of miles? Was it a random gift of thousands of dollars from a drunken wealthy beneficiary who tossed it overboard of a cruise ship before disappearing in the murky depths of the ocean? Or did some kid trespassing, ride up to the ocean on an ATV, and toss a note with obscenities it a few weeks ago only to have it float a mile or so? We didn't have a corkscrew handy, and was disinclined to use a rock, so we brought it home and documented the opening!
Small unactivated trackable thingie for FTF!
