Tämä kätkö vie etsijänsä Siikalatvan sydänmaille ja paikallishistoriallisesti merkittävään paikkaan! Papinkivi on pystytetty Rantsilan seurakunnan toimesta paikalle, jossa isonvihan aikaan (vuonna 1717) surmansa sai Rantsilan tuolloinen kappalainen Jacobus Johannis Saloenssis.
HUOM! Tietä ei huolleta ympäri vuoden. Tielle asetetaan puomi kelirikkojen aikaan loka-marraskuulla ja keväällä maalis-huhtikuussa. Lisäksi keskellä talvea tietä ei varmaankaan aurata Karhukankaan puolelta, joten viisainta on vierailla kesäaikaan eli 1.5.-30.9. välisenä aikana.

During the Great Northern war, the area of modern-day Finland (then part of the Swedish Empire) was invaded by the troops of the Russian Empire. This occupation, or "the Great Wrath" as it became known later, lasted from 1714 to 1721. During this period, thousands of Finns were killed and an even larger number captured and sold into slavery. To resist the attackers, the local population would resort to partisan warfare. In retaliation, however, the invaders would loot local residents. In particular, the Russians would be inclined to pillage any valuables from the church.
It was here at Papinkivi (Priest's Rock) where Jacobus Johannis Saloenssis, a local priest from Rantsila parish, was slain in 1717.
NB! Road maintenance is not guaranteed throughout the year due to remote location. A barrier has been set up in the past to prevent usage at times (esp. early spring/late autumn). It is recommended to visit during the summer months (May to September).
