Geocache Description:

The Kennedy Cemetery....the older cousin to the Dewar Cemetery just kitty corner across the road. (See hopper12's cache Restin' in Dewar)

The cemetery is located on land which was owned by Robert Kennedy who immigrated to this area in 1818 from Perthshire, Scotland, the same year as their neighbours, the Dewars. There is definitely evidence of the Scottish influence reflected in the names of the local roads and nearby towns.

Once you find the cache, turn around and read the plaque on the stone in front of you. It's not a headstone of a deceased individual, but provides some very interesting history relevant to past residents of the area. One wonders why it isn't in the Dewar Cemetery.
