Geocache Description:

After driving past many cemeteries in the area that didn't have restin caches I figured I stop my complaining and do something about it. As usual please respect the location you are in.

Parking at the trailhead is seasonally limited to one vehicle. Winter parking will likely be tricky to find. You'll have a nice walk down to the cemetery. Once there take some time to visit the information shed and sign the visitor log. There are also a few historical plaques to read as well. The McGuigan cemetery is one of the oldest burying grounds not only along the Rideau River but in Eastern Ontario. It was used for approximately one hundred years between 1800 and 1900. Not too long ago this was abandoned and has been restored thanks to the efforts of the local historical society.
