This is how the village was described in 1872:

Houses, 149. The manor, with Cranmer Hall, belongs to Sir Willoughby Jones, Bart. There are corn mills, agricultural implement works, and a small foundry. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Norwich. Value, £550.* Patron, Sir W. Jones, Bart. The church is of the time of Edward III., was recently restored, and has a fine tower. The former water mill, located about a mile south of the parish church, is now a pub and restaurant, but some of the workings remain visible.
The large airfield of RAF Sculthorpe lies immediately to the west of the village.
Sculthorpe Moor Community Nature Reserve lies to the south of the village in Turf Moor Road.
If anybody would like to expand this series please do. I would just ask that you let Smokeypugs know first so they can keep track of the Village Sign numbers and names to avoid duplication.
Well done to Piggy53 for the FTF
