Geocache Description:

Stephen Foster
Born in Lawrenceville, PA, in 1826, Stephen C. Foster is considered to be “the father of American music,” and was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 1970 and into the Nashville Hall of Fame in 2010. Foster wrote over 200 songs which are sometimes referred to as “childhood songs”.

Some of Stephen Foster's best-known compositions include:

Oh, Susanna,
My Old Kentucky Home,
Beautiful Dreamer,
Old Black Joe,
Jeanie With the Light Brown Hair,
CAMPtown Races,
Dear Hearts and Gentle People,
Massa’s in the Cold Ground,
Nellie Was a Lady,
Old Folks at Home (a.k.a.) Way Down Upon the Swanee River

In 1928, "My Old Kentucky Home" became the official song of Kentucky, and in 1935, "Old Folks at Home" became the official song of Florida.

In Pennsylvania, the Lawrenceville Historical Society hosts an annual Stephen Foster Music and Heritage Festival known as “Doo Dah Days!” which celebrates his life and music as one of the most influential songwriters in American history.

In addition, January 13, "Steven Foster Memorial Day" is an annual United States Federal Observance Day.

This is a quick C&D which contains a log only.  The clue to this geocache is in one of Stephen's songs. He wants you to enjoy this song and sing it loudly... "Doo Dah! Doo Dah!"
