IFTLSR#18 : Famars Traditional Cache

DESCRIPTION (english below)

Cette série de 20 caches vous propose de parcourir certains cimetières du sud-valenciennois sur les traces des soldats du Commonwealth venus délivrer la France en 1918. Pour trouver la dernière cache, vous devrez récolter des indices à chaque cimetière.

CONSIGNES - IL FAUT TROUVER LE SOLDAT RYAN

Cette série de caches peut se faire dans le sens que vous désirez mais nous vous conseillons malgré tout de suivre l'ordre que nous avons établi qui vous permettra de suivre l'histoire de Ryan (fictive) et de comprendre comment nous en sommes arrivés à le chercher à tous prix. Notez que, pour trouver Ryan, il ne vous sera pas nécessaire de trouver toutes les caches, simplement de vous rendre sur les lieux pour récolter les indices. Les cimetières que vous visiterez sont des lieux publics, entretenus par la Commonwealth war graves commission, mais avant tout des lieux de recueillement, soyez donc respectueux. Aucuns changements aux lieux n'ont été apportés pour placer les caches. Vous verrez qu'il n'y a pas d'indices pour trouver les caches, ceux-ci étant dissimulés dans les mots de Ryan, ci-dessous :

LES MOTS DE RYAN :

« Chère mère, La montée jusqu'à Valenciennes est d'une horreur sans nom. Vous qui me reprochiez mon manque de dévotion religieuse, je me tiens face à une croix et ne peux m'empêcher de penser en ce Dieu qui nous laisserait nous détruire de la sorte. S'Il le veut, je vous reviendrai. Ryan. »

BREF HISTORIQUE :

Famars a été capturé par la 4ème Gordon Highlanders après deux jours de combats, le 27 octobre 1918. Le cimetière communal a été agrandi par les forces armées fin octobre début novembre. Le cimetière accueille les tombes de 40 soldats dont un petit nombre non identifié.

R = nombre de soldats ayant un W dans leur nom de famille.

INSTRUCTIONS:

This series, which is made of 16 traditional, 3 multi and 1 mystery caches, will take you to some cemeteries in the south of Valenciennes, following the path of Commonwealth soldiers who came to battle against the German army during the 1WW. To find the last cache, you will have to find clues in every cemetery of the series. Please make sure to show respect (you don't need to damage anything to find the caches) and please take a moment to cherish the memories of those dead soldiers. The caches of the series can be found in any order that you wish, but we suggest that you try to find them following the order we implemented as it would make it possible for you to better understand the story of Ryan (which is a fictional one). Please note that, to find Ryan, you won't have to find every cache, you will only have to go to every cemetery to collect the clues. The cemeteries you will visit are public spaces which are taken care of by the Commonwealth war graves commission but are first of all places to honour the dead, so please show some respect. Keep in mind that nothing was changed so as to hide the caches. Please note that we are not providing you with hints since hints are hidden within Ryan's words (see below).

You used to reproach me for my lack of devotion to God but now I'm standing in front of a cross and I can't prevent myself from thinking about this God who would let us destroy each other in this war.
