Grab y'all a cold one over there and sit a spell while I finish up a little auto work finished up here in my garage. Hand me that socket wrench there so I can tighten down this M10 bolt on my transmission case. My Pop used to work on engines like this, but nothing was metric like it is today. He wouldn't know the difference between ANSI ad AARP. Dang this other bolt is an M12, pass over that other socket, the bigger one on the left. He didn't have no fancy tools like these, ratcheting box wrenches, universal sockets, nothing like that. And hand me that bigger socket for this one M14 bolt on the U-joint. But he was never scared to get his hands dirty, and neither are we. Take these eight M8 intake manifold bolts, Pops would have a nightmare tightening these down but hand me that smaller socket and we'll whip these tight in no time.
Grab another cold one and snag one for me, gotta get this body bolted back down to the chassis. Back in Pop's days this body would be all steel, this aluminum one I can move by myself. Lining up the body isn't much compared to these forty M12 bolts holding it together. But that's where the pneumatic impact wrench comes in handy, Pops would think we're spoiled. Hold my beer and let me slide under here on my creeper and tighten these up. There we go. Just tie the ground strap back on and we should be done. An M5 on the firewall and six M6's on the alternator. There we go.
Reach over there and fire her up. Yup, runs like a champ, love the rumble of that big block. Hope on in, we'll go snag this cache and head over to Pops for dinner.
