Placed just metres away from where the BT sidetrail joins the main BT. I chose this location specifically to try to give geocachers a reason to stay on the trail....now if only I could tempt everyone ELSE so easily to stay on the trail....

The Bruce Trail sidetrail comes from the main Hilton Falls parking lot, over the stream and eventually joins with the main Bruce Trail. There always seems to be a lot of bushwacking at the stile, no mater how many times I close it with debris (even the thorny stuff!). Thankfully no rare species known for the straight line between the stile and nearby road/cache. It's exactly where the arrow points and seems to be your closest point so think at least some of the trampling is cache related (darn that "follow the arrow!" vision) I'm sure there are also regular hikers that just don't know what a stile is and try to go around (but so far no luck getting a trail sign put here). For anyone wanting to avoid climbing the stile just go straight towards the field while under the hydro lines, then turn and follow the edge of the field south to join the BT sidetrail on the far side of the stile. (Oddly the fence only goes halfway around the field....and even more oddly the trail makers chose to cross into the field over the fence rather than through the non-fenced opening.)
For the geocachers: just follow the trail a few minutes longer after the arrow says you are passing Kelso 1000 and it will take you down a less steep area. You can get to Kelso 1000 by staying on the trails. If your coming down the main Bruce Trail from "its all downhill" to go to Kelso 1000 then this cache is just steps away from your path and makes an easy smiley on your way by.
You're willing to walk a few extra metres for another smiley right?
Regular entrance fees apply. Or save money (and get perks) by becoming a member. Automated gates now in use, schedule your visit online is best, but usually someone at the gatehouse on weekends. Outhouses available on site. Park closes at dusk.
Congrats to Radiohead316 for FTF! (thanks for using the stile!) ;)
